1. Tell us a bit about you, your professional qualifications and experience…

My background started from the Dance side of things. I first trained in ballet and later at Laban in contemporary dance, the reason I came to London.

As part of my Dance training at Laban we had to do Mat Pilates. After graduating from Laban and (whilst auditioning) I decided to become a fitness and group exercise instructor, as I can't sit still for no longer than 5 minutes at time. Unfortunately or fortunately depending on which way you look at it, I had a car accident which left me with a rather bad back injury.

So with my chosen career in bit's so to speak and knowing that Pilates was going to be the one thing that could fix me while I was recovering I decided to become a qualified Pilates Mat Teacher that was over 13 years ago, so I guess you could say Pilates chose me.

When I was dancing I understood the benefits of Pilates but I was also fit, it wasn't until I was injured that I truly appreciated the benefits and being able to help people recover, become pain free and or just move and feel better is now what I love to do.

2. What got you into Dynamic Reformer Pilates in the first place and why do you like teaching it now?

Pilates equipment had always been something I wanted to do. I found a company that would train you so jumped at the chance. With my fitness background as well dance and group exercise it is a great mix. I was there for just over 3 years which has given me another good foundation and of course being trained by Luke there, I love being able to fuse traditional Pilates isolation work and then take it into a full dynamic exercise creating a whole new level of awareness and burn sometimes lol
